About the Role

We are BSB, a school with its roots in the historic and culturally rich الدولة of البحرين, which is now growing within the global community. Join us on this journey. The British School of البحرين is committed to providing a high quality, international education for students in the Kingdom of البحرين. We are a selective, co educational, independent Nursery through Year 13 school. Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales, with some adaptations to the local context and offers IGCSE and A Level/BTEC examinations. While the language of academic instruction is English, we are a truly international school, and our pupils and staff come from over 82 different nationalities. The school has 2900 students on roll aged 3 18, it has a warm feel to it, and there is a sense of fun. Most importantly, our students are a joy to teach. The British School of البحرين (BSB) is seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of PE to start in August, 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver lessons that inspire and challenge all students and are in line with the school's curriculum, policies, and external assessment requirements. You will individualise and differentiate learning, ensuring each student is stretched, supported, and makes outstanding progress.
  • Supporting and Assessing Progress: Regularly assess students' in class and at الرئيسية learning, providing targeted feedback to drive progress and ensure all students are challenged and supported in reaching their potential.
  • Building a Positive Learning Environment: Establish a classroom and school environment where students are invested in each other's flourishing, feel valued and supported, and are ready to take risks in their learning.
  • Collaborating and Sharing Best Practices: Work closely with colleagues as an active member of our learning community, sharing best practices, collaborating with colleagues, and dedicating yourself to your own professional development to ensure the highest standard of education for our students.
  • Contributing to School Life: Play an active role in the school's co curricular programme, helping to create a well rounded, enriching educational experience. From leading clubs to contributing to whole school initiatives, you will help shape the broader life of the school.
  • Collaborating with Parents: Maintain open and constructive communication with parents, building strong partnerships that support students' progress so that each child feels like an individual, well known and respected.
Ideal Candidate
  • A degree and PGCE or B.Ed or the equivalent, with a minimum of two years post qualification teaching experience. The degree must be in the subject taught or a closely related subject.
  • Experience teaching the specialist subject from key stages 3 5.
  • Experience teaching the British curriculum up to GCSE and A-level students is highly desirable.
  • Confidence with the use of ICT in teaching.
  • Enhanced disclosure from the DBS or equivalent, and who are committed to the welfare of all children.
  • High expectations and aspirations for all students.
  • A commitment to the overall development of young people.
  • An open minded approach to their work, and willing to learn and develop.
  • A demonstrable love for what they do and a proven track record.
