Overview

Responsibilities
  • The Deck Hand reports to the Master.
  • Contribute to keeping the vessel available for deployment in a safe and efficient manner, as directed by the Master and in accordance with HMS policies/procedures and local legislation when applicable.
  • Perform all work tasks safely; if in doubt, ask the Master for guidance before starting work.
  • Propose initiatives to raise onboard safety levels.
  • Actively participate in safety training and drills onboard.
  • Perform operational duties related to all vessel tasks, including assisting with salvage وظائف, workshop وظائف ashore, or preparing equipment onshore/tow operations.
  • Perform maintenance and housekeeping duties on deck, in the engine room, or in accommodation as instructed by the Master.
  • Stand watches such as lookout on the bridge and on deck as required.
  • Stop work if a task is unsafe, informing the Master. Be familiar with Stop Work procedures, including Take 5, as part of the الشركة's safety measures. The Master is responsible for instruction.
  • Know the procedures for Proactive and Near Miss Reporting for occurrences that could cause injury, illness, pollution, defects, or damage. The Master is responsible for instruction.
  • Comply with the regulations of the الشركة safety management system.
  • Induction training of visitors, employees, and other persons authorized to access the vessel when a Master, Deck Officer, or Chief Engineer/Engineer is unavailable.
Knowledge and Qualifications
  • II/4 - Nav Watch Rating - Unlimited
  • Basic Safety Training (STCW A-VI/1)
  • Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties A-VI/6
  • Valid Seafarer Medical
