Job Summary

The Director of Recreation runs all aspects of the indoor and outdoor recreation, which includes beach and services, pools and services, marina and water sports and the operations on the Private Island. The Director reports to the Hotel Manager and ensures the smooth running of the entire sports and recreation department.

The role takes full responsibility for ensuring the highest standards are met, including training the recreation team, setting weekly KRAs with key team members, conducting departmental meetings, and attending daily hotel meetings. The Director manages upkeep and maintenance of the area, reporting to engineering and overseeing contractors. The Director implements new الشركة strategies, advises on enhancements and CAPEX, and organizes member events such as themed parties and sporting events including Tennis Tournaments, Squash Tournaments, Swimming Races and Biathlons. Overseeing all activities under the Ritz Kids program is also part of the role.

Candidate Profile Experience
  • Minimum 5 years spent in a Recreation Department.
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role with The Ritz-Carlton or another hotel الشركة.
Education
  • University degree required or equivalent.
  • Hospitality industry certifications.

  • Achieve guest voice and full engagement in fitness.
  • Responsible for sports club financial and business operations including memberships.
  • Implement new beach club service initiatives to achieve our vision.
  • Analyze beach club processes (SOP) to ensure service delivery exceeds expectations in all areas.
  • Enhance water sports and marina services.
  • Continuously improve the facility by renewing equipment and innovating new initiatives.
  • Ensure safety and security around the resort and while guests are at sea.
  • Be present in operations for personalized guest interaction; lead and create guest preferences database.
  • Engage guests in community footprints and activities.
  • Provide quality follow up with members, recognizing members and guests.
  • Oversee all areas under The Ritz Kids Program.
Enhance The Overall Resort Experience
  • Enhance beachside experience; greet and escort guests to desired الموقعs; add unique services and amenities.
  • Elevate island experiences, focusing on platinum members and hotel guests; ensure employee presence, warm welcome, better ambience and new services.
  • Enhance joggers experience.
  • Plan and organize monthly and annual events for members.

Events, Activities and Entertainment
  • Strengthen The Ritz-Carlton mystique by actively creating event themes.
  • Maximize guest participation in all organized events.
  • Lead team in organizing Sports Club events and activities.
  • Repackage cruises, fishing trips, water sports lessons and island activities.
  • Improve merchandising within the sports club.
Recreation Financial Performance
  • Exceed revenue goals and profitability through:
    • Inventory management, reducing expenses.
    • Creating new revenue centers: water sports, group packages, personal training and sports lessons.
    • Evaluating potential marina members and increasing membership base, including dry storage options.
  • Monthly financial reports and P&L statements; forecast accuracy and CAPEX.
  • Strengthen corporate membership relations and opportunities.
  • Smart approach to membership to increase database count.
  • Create loyalty program for Group Corporate Membership accounts.
  • Set membership pricing and المنصبing strategy.
  • Protect and maintain all property assets through regular maintenance.
Leadership
  • Integrate with health club operations; work closely with co business leader for fitness center operations, swimming pools, reception, hammam, membership, tennis academy, swimming and Ritz Kids.
