We are looking for a highly experiencedPrincipal Aero-Mechanical Engineerto lead the design, development and lifecycle support of advanced aero-mechanical sub-systems. This role is ideal for someone with deep technical expertise in aerodynamics, thermo-dynamics and structural mechanics, particularly within the defense or aerospace sectors.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the integrity of aero-mechanical systems from concept through to production and operational support, collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-performance, reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and document requirements for aero-mechanical sub-systems, including verification strategies.
• Model and evaluate design alternatives with a focus on fault tolerance and performance.
• Conduct simulations and analysis in aerodynamics, aeroelasticity, vibration, fatigue, and thermal dynamics.
• Approve mechanical designs, drawings, and documentation for fabrication, assembly, and testing.
• Lead prototyping and testing efforts, including data analysis and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal processes.
• Manage configuration and change control throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in material review and change control boards.
• Drive continuous improvement in design, processes, and team capabilities.
• Collaborate with quality and safety teams to ensure product integrity and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aero-Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with relevant aeronautical experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in aero-mechanical development within defense or aerospace.
• Strong foundation in aero-mechanical principles, simulation tools, and safety standards (e.g., MIL-STD-882, ARP4761A, DO-160).
• Proven ability to lead and approve complex engineering work across disciplines.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with model-based/digital engineering is a plus.
